My husband and I bought Lucy as a wedding present to ourselves 2001. Although Lucy was KC registered, she had come from a puppy farm in Wales to a local breeder and she was riddled with health problems throughout her life. She actually had a good pedigree with Nokeener and Poolstead breeding throughout. Despite her health problems, she was the happiest dog you could meet. We were so proud when Lucy got through to the finals of the waggiest tail competition at Discover dogs in 2003 and she came second. Her temperament was superb and she helped babysit several litters over the years. Our proudest moment was when she qualified to be a Pets as Therapy dog and spent a couple of years visiting elderly residents in a local nursing home. Because of the problems Lucy had, she made us want to breed healthy Labradors so families didn't have to go through what we did. She had tummy problems and joint problems which led to arthritis at a young age. We wouldn't have swapped her for the world and she is the reason we are where we are today. She passed away just a few months before her fifteenth birthday and she left a huge hole in our lives. She lives on in our affix which is named after her name in Latin.
